REVIEW: Revolution York!

REVIEW: Revolution York!

When we were invited into Revolution York to enjoy a lunch, we didn’t really know what to expect.  My younger years meant that the word Revolution had me thinking of Vodka Shots and Cocktails – and not a typical hangout for food with friends.  I have of course previously been in Revolution York, but always on a night and always for nothing more than dancing the night away.

This trip was a little different.  Heading towards the venue on a warm, albeit slightly damp, Monday lunchtime, I was surprised by how inviting and trendy the building was.  The room was full of people on their lunch breaks sat in booths scoffing down coke and chips, families squashed in amongst the pushchairs and of course the bunch of girls on a shopping weekend, enjoying cocktails!  After finding a trendy little window booth to get comfortable in (these are hot property so arrive early to get your booth), we scoured the menu.  I had good intentions of a salad, but once I saw the range of burgers on offer, it was a done deal.  My friend and I sat back to enjoy the Bean Dreamin’ Burger, and the Mother Clucker Burger!  2 mammoth burgers packed with flavours and stacked high!  In fact, my friend said that the Mother Clucker Burger was the best that they had ever had!

For drinks, we chose to avoid the Vodka shots…and instead opted for some mocktails!  A delicious Bonbon Blush and a Ketel Kooler.  The Bonbon Blush in particular has a great taste, but the added novelty of being served in a little plastic bag!  Great for those social media fanatics who enjoy photographing their beverages!

Once fed and watered, we enjoyed a tour of the building.  Two levels of massive bar area, with spaces for private hire including weddings!  Plus, a lovely outdoor terraced area overlooking the river.

In short, Revolution are catering to a huge audience including the traditional drinkers looking for somewhere to party, through to co-workers needing to unwind after a tedious shift, or families needing somewhere to feed and water the kids!  In fact, you can even consider it for that upcoming corporate event or meeting.
